Houston police are investigating a fatal shooting after officers responding to a person-down call found someone with a gunshot wound inside a building at 2824 Hillcroft Avenue on Friday morning. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the person dead at the scene.

Stringer said patrol officers located the victim inside the building and that the case is being handled as an active homicide investigation, according to the City of Houston newsroom.
