
Hillsborough County is accepting applications for RISE Internship program for high school students. The program provides an opportunity to gain experience working within local government. Applications are due by March 31, according to the county’s announcement.
The RISE program, which stands for Redefining Internships for Student Empowerment, is designed for local rising and graduating high school seniors. Participants are placed in various county departments, including Emergency Management, Public Works, and Pet Resources, providing exposure to a range of public service areas.
The program is a paid, eight-week internship that provides participants with an inside view of Hillsborough County operations. It also includes professional development courses covering topics such as interviewing, personal finance, workplace etiquette, and resume building.
