
A hit-and-run on Piʻikoi Street and Lunalilo Street in Honolulu sent a moped rider to the hospital. The Honolulu Police Department reports the crash happened on Wednesday when an unknown driver, traveling north on Piʻikoi Street, changed lanes and hit the 41-year-old rider, who was thrown onto the road, as reported by KHON2.
Emergency services took the moped rider to the hospital in good condition. The driver involved in the crash did not stop and fled the scene. The rider was not wearing a helmet at the time, according to Hawaii News Now. Honolulu police are asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run to call (808) 723-3413.
The Honolulu Police Department is investigating a collision involving a moped rider and is trying to identify the motorist. Speed does not appear to be a factor, and it is unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Traffic Division.
