Holly Springs, NC, has opened a new Community Garden and Nature Play Area at Sugg Farm Park. Mayor Dick Sears and Town Council members held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the unveiling. The garden provides residents with opportunities to engage in gardening and enjoy outdoor activities. To allocate garden plots, the town has established a lottery system, and interested residents can apply on Thursday. More information is available on the town’s official website.
The park’s new features also include a Nature Play Area and Sensory Trail designed for children ages 2 to 10. The area is built with accessibility in mind, enabling children of all abilities to participate in play and exploration. Representatives from the North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund, local community members, and other partners joined town officials in celebrating the grand opening, according to a Facebook post.
Additional information about the Nature Play Area and its sensory activities is available on the town’s website.
