Honolulu Fire Department units were dispatched to the scene shortly after the fire was reported at around 8:07 a.m., the crew made their way to the residence where they found the blaze and immediately worked to douse the flames and establish that no one was caught inside the perilous situation, as detailed by KITV. Their prompt response allowed the fire to be fully extinguished within minutes, by 8:31 a.m., ensuring a swift end to the potential disaster.
Investigations following the incident concluded on January 9th, leading to the fire being classified as intentional by Honolulu Fire Department investigators. The estimated damages to the building were determined to be $4,000 with an additional $1,000 loss accounted for in contents, as reported by KHON2.
