Houston authorities are currently investigating a homicide that took place at 2520 Calumet Street on Tuesday evening, leaving one man dead. The incident, classified as a fatal shooting, occurred shortly before 9 p.m., according to a recent report published by cityofhouston.news.
A 41-year-old man was found with a fatal gunshot wound by Houston police responding to a robbery call. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. The suspects remain at large, and the Homicide Division urges anyone with information to come forward.
The HPD Homicide Division, including Sergeants C. LaFour, C. Duncan, and Detectives R. Waterwall and J. Jorsch, reported that two armed suspects approached the victim’s vehicle in an attempted robbery. The victim and passenger exited as demanded, but when the suspects could not start the car, they confronted the victim again, resulting in a physical altercation.
During the altercation, one suspect shot and killed the victim. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction, detectives said. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
