Houston police are currently investigating a shooting that tragically ended the life of one individual and injured another on the evening of Saturday, January 10 at 6400 Main Street. The incident occurred close to 9:05 p.m. and left a 21-year-old male dead, his identity withheld pending family notification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, as reported by City of Houston News.
The second victim, discovered with gunshot wounds on a nearby Houston Metro Rail platform, is 32-year-old Jordan Lee Williams, who, according to the HPD Homicide Division, is now facing a weapon charge. "The male who was transported to the hospital was later identified as Jordan Lee Williams, 32. He was found to be in possession of a weapon and was charged with felon in possession of a weapon in the 230th Criminal District Court," City of Houston News outlines.
Following the initial reports of the shooting, Houston police arrived on scene to find one male victim on the sidewalk, who was subsequently pronounced dead by Houston Fire Department paramedics. The investigation, spearheaded by HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective L. Brooks, is ongoing as no witnesses remained at the scene to provide immediate insight into the events leading to the altercation and the subsequent shooting.
The Houston police are reaching out to the public for any useful information relating to the case.
