On the same day he reported her missing, Sharma left the United States on a flight headed to India, a detail later unearthed by detectives, complicating the situation as the search for answers continues; upon searching the ex-boyfriend's apartment last Saturday, authorities found Godishala and evidence leading to the belief that she was murdered shortly after 7 p.m. on New Year's Eve. Sharma is currently sought on charges of first- and second-degree murder as investigators delve deeper into the case, trying to piece together the events that led to this tragic outcome, yet a motive remains elusive at this stage.
