Florida Task Force 5 (FLTF5) recently conducted K9 training on a rubble pile at the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department’s Training Academy. The structure was built to replicate the unstable conditions teams may encounter during disaster responses.
Collaboration with other task forces, including those from Texas, provides teams with additional perspectives and opportunities to refine their methods and skills. "A member of Texas Task Force 1 and her K9s joined the training, allowing handlers from both teams to test techniques, adapt to complex conditions, and learn from each other’s deployment experience," stated the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department on a social media post.
The exchange of knowledge between the teams is intended to coordinate their efforts and improve efficiency in high-pressure situations.
