As the Jacksonville Jaguars gear up to tackle the Buffalo Bills in Sunday's playoff contest, the City of Jacksonville is throwing a pre-game bash to rally the fans. Dubbed 'Playoffs in the Park,' this free, family-centric event is scheduled to inundate Riverfront Plaza with an outpouring of fanfare from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow.
According to News4Jax, the lineup includes live music, lawn games, face painting, and a cornhole tournament, offering up something for everyone in the family. Food trucks will be in attendance for those looking to grab a bite amidst the festivities. Attendees will also get the chance to rub elbows with THE ROAR—the Jacksonville Jaguars' cheerleaders—who are slated to make an appearance.
For fans seeking a bit more competitive action, Jax Parks has collaborated with Downtown Vision, Inc. to organize a cornhole tournament kicking off at 1 p.m. The victors of this tournament will nab a $50 Downtown Jax gift card. Those interested in throwing their hats in the ring should note that the tournament is not an infinite arena. Spaces are at a premium, with registration on a first-come, first-served basis, and are set to fly off the proverbial shelf. As detailed by Fun 4 First Coast Kids, each team must feature at least one child to qualify for entry.
Parking will be available for those driving downtown, with metered spaces free on weekends. Attendees may also use the nearby Water Street Garage for a $5 fee. Organizers say “PLAYoffs in the Park” offers family-friendly entertainment and serves as a lead-up to Sunday’s game. For those planning to attend tomorrow’s pre-game festivities, Action News Jax reminds the public the event will take place at Riverfront Plaza, located at 2 W. Independent Drive in Jacksonville. Attendees are encouraged to plan ahead and come ready for the Jag of All Trades event this weekend.
