Swift police work led to the arrest of a man who allegedly stole a gun from a Highlands-area pawn shop, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office reported. After bolting from the shop with a handgun he had asked to examine, 26-year-old Rashard Fulton was apprehended within a few days, thanks to efforts by multiple units within JSO.
The theft occurred on Monday, January 5, when Fulton reportedly sprinted out of the pawn shop on Leonid Road with the firearm. Utilizing area surveillance footage, JSO Crime Gun Intelligence Center detectives, alongside patrol officers and the Community Problem Response Unit, identified the suspect. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, this incident marks Fulton's fourth local arrest.
On January 8, the collaborative law enforcement team located and arrested Fulton. During the arrest, officers found the stolen handgun in Fulton’s bag, highlighting the effectiveness of JSO’s rapid response and investigative efforts in this case.
