The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is conducting operations during National Human Trafficking Prevention Month to address human trafficking. The Vice Unit works to remove offenders from the streets and connect victims with available resources.
The Vice Unit’s recent operations are aimed at reducing the demand for prostitution, an industry frequently linked to human trafficking. On Facebook post, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office stated, “Recent operations like the ones you see in this video lower the demand for prostitution. Prostitution fuels human trafficking and exploitation. When we reduce the demand, we help reduce human trafficking.”
The public is encouraged to report suspicious activity by calling 904-630-0500. Victims can access confidential support through the National Human Trafficking Hotline by phone at 1-888-373-7888, by text at 233733, or online at HumanTraffickingHotline.org.
