
Jacksonville celebrated as the local football team won the AFC South Championship, and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was also honored. Jaguars head coach Liam Coen invited Sheriff Waters and his officers to a team practice to recognize their service, a gesture the JSO shared on its Facebook page as a way to acknowledge the officers’ dedication.
The JSO post highlighted the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the public safe, especially on game days. The department noted that more than 300 officers, community service officers, dispatchers, and support staff are involved in managing a single home game.
The recognition comes as Jacksonville celebrates the Jaguars’ playoff run. The sheriff’s office expressed pride in its role in public safety and support for the team.
