The City of Jacksonville, Florida's Government took to social media with an announcement sure to warm the hearts of locals looking to expand their families with a four-legged friend. In a recent post by the City of Jacksonville, Florida - Government, they shared the opportunity to prepay for a batch of adorable puppies at the ACPS shelter, located at 2020 Forest St.
"Go take pictures of scruffy, squirmy puppies, they said. It’ll be fun, they said. 🫠 Anyway, this is the best we got—meet the 7 Dwarves! 13-week-old Doc, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, Grumpy, Happy, and Dopey are available for prepays TODAY!" reads the post. The seven puppies, named after the beloved fairy tale characters, are as lively as their names suggest, offering a playful struggle for those attempting to photograph their wiggly antics.
Interested parties can visit the ACPS shelter any day of the week between noon and 7 pm to put down a prepay, which secures a future adoption post-surgery. This system places a "hold" on an animal, ensuring that once they are spayed or neutered, they are all set to go to the home of the family who placed the prepay. The shelter assures that the puppies are not only adorable but sweet, snuggly, and would be "MUCH easier to bribe into taking photo shoots in their new family’s home than they have been here 😂."
The City of Jacksonville is encouraging locals to #adoptdontshop, highlighting the importance and benefits of adopting pets from shelters. The puppies are part of the city's efforts to connect homeless animals with loving families. The 7 Dwarves are described as "sweet, snuggly, extremely wiggly," and an ideal addition to any home looking to adopt a new furry member. "These place a 'hold' on an animal waiting for their surgery. Once the pet is spayed or neutered, the family who placed the prepay is able to come in and finalize the adoption. ❤️" the original post by the Animal Care & Protective Services added.
Potential adopters can find more information and updates on the City of Jacksonville, Florida - Government’s social media pages or by visiting the shelter at its Riverside location.
