Raleigh’s Walnut Creek Wetland Park will host Invasive Species Awareness Day on February 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is designed to provide an educational experience on the management of invasive species and the techniques used in natural resource conservation. Experts in the field will be on hand to share information and demonstrate strategies aimed at protecting local ecosystems, according to the City of Raleigh.
The program is open to participants of all ages and does not require registration. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the urban wetland while learning about the impact of invasive species on native plants and wildlife.
In addition to the educational activities, a complimentary hot chocolate bar will be available for visitors.
