Judson ISD Superintendent Dr. Milton “Rob” Fields III has been placed on administrative leave following a meeting over alleged financial mismanagement in the district, News 4 San Antonio reported.
Earlier plans to dismiss Fields were paused after a private board session to review the legality of the vote. The discussions focused on the district’s financial health, following voter rejection of proposed levies. The district says it remains committed to a stable learning environment, but no timetable has been set for when the board will revisit the issue.
Judson ISD announced late Saturday that Superintendent Dr. Milton “Rob” Fields III has been placed on administrative leave with pay, KSAT 12 reported. Assistant Superintendent of Technology Dr. Lacey Gosch will serve as acting superintendent during his absence.
Board President Monica Ryan said action against the superintendent was a confidential personnel matter. Trustee Laura Stanford told KSAT 12 that the timing is poor, with key financial decisions pending and a vacant CFO position. Trustee José A. Macias Jr. called the actions “100% political.”
Dr. Fields, who became superintendent on May 11, 2023, has faced scrutiny over his employment three times since June 2025. The future of his role remains uncertain.
