Motorists should expect lane closures on Kainahola Road from February 5–6, as the Department of Public Works and GP Roadway Solutions conduct guardrail repairs and installations. Work will take place from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and drivers traveling near Kawaihau Road are advised to plan alternate routes.
According to an announcement from the county's website, good weather permitting, this roadwork is necessary so make the appropriate arrangements, and allow extra time to get where you're going. During the closures, they said, no parking in the work zones is going to be allowed. For those who find themselves at the mercy of these repairs, flaggers will be on-the-ground to direct bumper-to-bumper traffic and help keep the confusion to a minimum.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead to avoid potential traffic delays. Drivers traveling through the area can take detours—or opt for a more scenic route—while construction crews and flaggers carry out roadwork.
