
The Kannapolis Police Department announced promotions for two officers. Arthur Reid, Jr., who began as a Patrol Officer in 2016, has been promoted to Sergeant in recognition of his dedication and steady career advancement.
According to the Kannapolis Fire and Police's Post, Reid’s career has followed an impressive trajectory. After becoming a Field Training Officer, earning a promotion to Police Officer II, and joining the Felony Investigations Unit, he was designated Master Police Officer in 2023. His steady progress and talents in mentorship and investigations have been recognized by his superiors.
Dale Burris, who joined the department in 2011 and became a sergeant in 2020, has been promoted to Lieutenant. His distinguished record includes roles as a Master Police Officer, Honor Guard member, Special Response Team negotiator, and Field Training Officer.
The two officers share a commitment to the Patrol Division, where their new roles will likely see them influencing the next generation of police officers through the wisdom accrued from their collective years of service.
