Kapa‘a residents and commuters should expect road and single-lane closures on parts of Kukui Street and Niu Street from January 28 to 30, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., depending on weather. The closures are part of geotechnical assessments for upcoming traffic signal improvements and a new utility pole installation, according to the County of Kauai.

On January 28, a single-lane closure will affect the left turn lane on Kukui Street west of Kūhiō Highway. January 29 will see a larger closure on the east side of Kukui Street at Kūhiō Highway, followed by a closure on January 30 at the southern end of Niu Street where it meets Kūhiō Highway, as reported by the County of Kauai.

Traffic changes will occur for infrastructure work, but property access will remain open. Drivers should follow signs, traffic personnel, and flaggers, and expect possible delays or detours.
