La Bangin' Tacos, the popular food-truck brand behind sibling concept Bangin' Bowls, is trading pavement for permanent digs in Arden-Arcade. The crew is taking over the former Vechos Eatery space on Fulton Avenue, turning a high-traffic food-truck favorite into a full-time neighborhood stop. The move adds another Latin American-focused option to a stretch of Fulton that has seen several recent turnovers.
According to The Sacramento Bee, the restaurant will open at 1600 Fulton Ave with a soft launch this Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., as first shared in an Instagram announcement cited by the paper. The Bee notes the new space will bring both La Bangin' Tacos and the Bangin' Bowls concepts together under one roof.
From trucks to a shop
Owner Nadia Daoud launched Bangin' Bowls in 2019 and built out the brand through mobile units and a Davis storefront, according to the business website. The UC Davis dining schedule also lists La Bangin' Tacos on campus food-truck rotations, signaling a regional footprint and a ready-made fan base before the Arden-Arcade move.
Bangin' Bowls and the university schedule both show the team has leaned on trucks and pop-ups to test menu items and service styles before committing to new locations.
What to expect from the menu
Early previews suggest the Arden-Arcade menu will mash up truck favorites with a few twists. Coverage has pointed to grilled steak bowls, birria ramen, salchipapas and loaded fries as likely staples. Abridged specifically highlighted grilled steak bowls, birria ramen and salchipapas among the expected offerings at the new spot.
Space and timeline
The storefront at 1600 Fulton Ave was left vacant when Vechos Eatery closed late last year, opening the door for the Bangin' Bowls group to step in. What Now reported on the handoff and noted that owner Kevin Ramos confirmed the decision to shutter Vechos and move on to a new venture.
Soft opening and what comes next
The Thursday soft opening is set to give the team a chance to dial in service flow and fine-tune the menu before a full rollout. Local coverage describes this as the brand’s second brick-and-mortar in the region. For the latest on hours, menu details and a firm grand-opening date, the business is steering customers to its online channels. Bangin' Bowls and the brand's social accounts are expected to carry the most up-to-date announcements and contact information.
