Lakeland residents who frequently use Hamilton Road will need to adjust their routes this week, starting bright and early Tuesday morning. Officials announced that a segment of the road will be closed to all through traffic starting at 8 a.m. on Jan. 13, for a much-needed resurfacing project.
The stretch between Drane Field Road and Medulla Road is the area affected by the closure. According to a notification by Polk County officials, the project is spearheaded by Blue Steel Development, and the road is anticipated to be back open on Sunday around 5 p.m., presuming all goes to plan.
Road resurfacing may cause detours and increased traffic. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid delays.
