The shooting occurred just after 9 a.m. near Sandhill and Sunset Road while the constable was serving an eviction notice, according to FOX 5 Vegas. The constable sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Details about the confrontation and the suspect have not been released. However, a source told 8 News Now that the officer was attacked with a machete. The constable is recovering. As the investigation continues, the Nevada Highway Patrol warned of closures on sections of I-11 leading to University Medical Center.
