The trial of former actor Nathan Chasing Horse, known for his role in "Dances with Wolves," is set to begin on Tuesday in Las Vegas. He faces 21 charges, including sexual assault, sexual assault with a minor, and first-degree kidnapping of a minor, and is pleading not guilty, according to FOX5 Vegas.
The allegations claim Chasing Horse used his status as a spiritual leader to abuse Indigenous women and girls over two decades. Jury selection starts on Tuesday, with the trial expected to last four weeks and 18 witnesses scheduled to testify, following a previous 2024 indictment that was dismissed by the Nevada Supreme Court.
Nathan Lee Chasing His Horse, also known as Chasing Horse, was arrested in 2023 after an investigation into allegations that he used his role as a self-proclaimed medicine man to lead a cult and abuse young Indigenous females, as reported by News3LV. Lee said to FOX5 Vegas, "How do we hold them accountable?" and "How do we start these tough conversations?"
