In Lewisville, calm has been restored after a shooting incident that occurred on East Round Grove Road. The Lewisville Police Department announced at 12:16 AM yesterday that officers had cleared the scene. This follows an initial report of an event where two adults sustained minor injuries.
One of the victims, an adult female, escaped unscathed; she was hit with a round in the hip. Despite the frightening experience, her injuries are fortunately not life-threatening. Both victims were reported to have minor injuries consistent with shrapnel from shattered glass, originally, according to the police's investigation.
The suspects involved in the incident have fled, but law enforcement is hot on their trail, following up on leads with "good information to continue the investigation," the Lewisville PD detailed. They have emphasized that this appears to be an isolated incident and reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat to their safety. As part of their effort to resolve this matter, officers were actively collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses at the scene.
