A veteran Jacksonville Sheriff's Office officer, Raymond Goethe, has been arrested on DUI charges in St. Johns County. Goethe, who has served with the JSO for 28 years, was stopped by a St. Johns County deputy while driving north on US Highway 1 late Friday night, and was found to be under the influence.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) said Goethe, who was off duty and driving his personal vehicle at the time, has been administratively reassigned pending further investigation. According to First Coast News, this is the first arrest of a JSO employee in 2026.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office has not released details on what led to the traffic stop. After a roadside investigation, Goethe was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. He has been reassigned to administrative duties away from patrol while the case is under review, as per News4Jax.
