
Around 8:30 p.m. near Lake Mead and Hollywood, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department located a stolen vehicle using License Plate Reader technology. The driver attempted to flee, performing dangerous maneuvers, including swerving into oncoming traffic, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The situation ended near Linn Lane and Lake Mead Boulevard when the stolen car collided with another vehicle. Fortunately, the other driver was hospitalized as a precaution but did not suffer serious injuries, and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed they did not actively pursue the suspect.
After a crash, a suspect tried to run on foot but was located with the help of LVMPD’s AIR5, which guided officers to a nearby backyard where the driver surrendered. "Great teamwork by our LVMPD Northeast Area Command patrol officers and AIR5," according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on their Facebook page about the incident (case LLV260100022713). The case involved the use of technology like License Plate Reader to help track the suspect.
