The ceremony, which took place earlier this week, recognized the bravery and professionalism of those involved in a volatile situation requiring immediate response and precision.
As reported by LVMPD SAR's official social media post, SAR Officer Keller and Doctor Hafen were awarded for their life-saving measures during an operation involving a barricaded subject. Wounded during an officer-involved shooting, the suspect's life was hanging by a thread when Keller and Hafen, serving as the Tactical Medic and Tactical Doctor respectively, stepped in with crucial medical intervention.
Alongside the life-saving duo, two SWAT operators were also commended for their contributions to the operation, receiving meritorious service commendations. Reflecting on the event, the social media post read, "Any time. Any place. Day or night. Always ready to save lives."
