
On Tuesday, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue responded to an incident near Kraft Mountain in Calico Basin, where a group of five hikers faced a challenge after one injured their ankle and could not return to safety. AIR3, with two SAR officers aboard, flew to the site while ground teams prepared to reach the injured hiker, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue.
"FD personnel from LVFR 44 and CCFD 28 began hiking in to attempt to make patient access prior to that and had just arrived upon AIR3s arrival," the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue stated. The coordinated response ensured the injured hiker received timely assistance from both air and ground crews.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue on their Instagram account, an injured hiker was treated on-site and airlifted to the BLM helipad, where a ground ambulance transported them to medical care. The other hikers were escorted out by fire department personnel. The incident is logged as LLV260100026129.
