
Early Sunday morning in Long Beach turned violent when a man fell victim to a shooting on the 2300 block of Atlantic Avenue. The Long Beach Police Department reported that officers were called to the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway at around 3:02 a.m., Jan. 17, where they discovered the wounded individual.
The victim, described as a male adult, was found with a gunshot injury to his lower body. Thankfully, the man's wounds were not life-threatening, and he was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition, according to the LBPD Blotter. A crime scene was located, and LBPD detectives have taken charge of the ongoing investigation, yet details about the motive and suspect are still unclear.
The Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) paramedics responded promptly to the call, ensuring the victim received the necessary medical attention. The LBPD has appealed to the public for any information that could assist in shedding light on this incident, and the community is urged to come forward if they have any details that could help identify the perpetrator or explain the sequence of events leading up to the shooting.
