A man is currently hospitalized following a shooting incident that occurred near the border of Wilkinsburg and Pittsburgh, as reported by authorities. According to WPXI, the shooting was first detected last night via ShotSpotter at 11:26 p.m., and first responders were dispatched to the scene seven minutes later.
Representatives from the Wilkinsburg Police Department, including Lt. Chris Duncan, informed WPXI that the victim, a man in his 20s, was making his way from a home on the 1900 block of Remington Drive when an unknown vehicle approached and opened fire. The man suffered two gunshot wounds—one in the chest and another in the torso—and sought refuge at another residence on the 1300 block of Clark Street, where medics initially treated him.
The injured man, who was then transported to the hospital in stable condition, claimed he did not recognize his assailant, as CBS News Pittsburgh further relates from Duncan's briefing. The case is being investigated collaboratively by the Wilkinsburg and Allegheny County police departments.
