
Manatee County residents completed their first Community Cleanup, diverting over 107 tons of waste from local neighborhoods and natural areas. The county’s social media post praised the turnout at Parrish Community Park and Myakka Community Center, highlighting the community’s strong spirit.
Manatee County Government reminded residents that the Lena Road Landfill remains open for year-round disposal of items such as refrigerators, tires, furniture, and yard waste. Fees are $5 for cars and SUVs without trailers and $23 for other vehicles up to 1,000 lbs.
Residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for the next free Community Cleanup in April.
Manatee County Government thanked residents for participating in the first Community Cleanup and providing feedback. They plan to improve future events, including better traffic flow management.
