Manatee County is on the hunt for four civic-minded individuals to provide oversight for its Infrastructure Sales Tax spending. These roles are part of an advisory committee formed to ensure that taxpayer money is being put to good use. The half-cent sales tax was greenlighted by voters back in 2016, and the committee stays on top of how every penny is spent.
Selected applicants will meet periodically to review the county’s infrastructure projects and make recommendations, which will be included in an annual report for the Board of County Commissioners. Committee members must reside in unincorporated areas of Manatee County, according to a news release at www.mymanatee.org.
The committee meets at 5:30 p.m. in a conference room at the Manatee County Government Administrative Center. Meetings are open to the public, and members serve two-year terms. Full details, including the schedule and meeting locations, are available in the county’s announcement.
Residents interested in applying must submit their applications by February 9, 2026. For more information, call (941) 745-3773 or email [email protected].
