In an unexpected twist to what could have been a typical case of trespassing at a local Fred Meyer in Marysville, WA, employees found themselves calling for police assistance, not for a masked burglar of the human variety, but for a less conventional suspect—a raccoon. According to a social media post by the Marysville WA Police, the furry intruder was caught "raiding the garden area" on Monday morning.
Upon arrival, Community Service Officers, assisted by Patrol Officers, safely captured the raccoon without incident. Officers later discovered the animal had been injured.
The wounded animal was promptly transported to the Sarvey Wildlife Care Center for medical treatment and rehabilitation, according to the police department's online communication.
