The Hope Center, a faith-based food pantry and outreach hub serving the Bulverde–Spring Branch area, is turning to its neighbors for help after a masked man allegedly broke into its campus and The Loft Coffee House early Sunday. Staff say the intruder stole cash from both the coffee shop and the community center, then came back and vandalized the on-site thrift store and boutique, which are now closed indefinitely. Volunteers and donors who keep the nonprofit running are urging anyone with information to speak up so the charity can recover and reopen.
According to News4SanAntonio, the first break-in happened around 1 a.m. Sunday at The Loft Coffee House and the Hope Center campus. The outlet shared still photos and video provided by the group from its Facebook page, showing a masked man carrying what appears to be a yellow duffel bag. The Hope Center told the station that the suspect made off with "all the cash" from both the coffeehouse and the community center.
"Our charity is here in our community to help those in need and would most definitely help someone like our thief with open arms and a kind, loving heart," a Hope Center spokesperson told News4SanAntonio. The group said the same suspect returned Monday night and vandalized the thrift store and boutique, forcing the nonprofit to shut that part of its operation until repairs can be made.
Where the break-ins happened
Bourbon and Branch lists its address on US-281 in Spring Branch, where it operates as a locally owned neighborhood bar. That puts the reported incident along a small Highway 281 commercial strip that includes The Loft Coffee House and the Hope Center campus.
