The Maui Police Department's Mobile Medical Education Unit is providing services at Kalama Park in Kihei to support the houseless population, starting on Monday. Partner organizations such as Imua Services and the Maui AIDS Foundation are also helping, working with the Maui Police Department to offer health insurance enrollment, SNAP applications, hygiene kits, and free STD testing. The effort shows a community approach to addressing homelessness and providing essential resources to those in need.
According to the Maui Police Department on their Facebook page, the Mobile Medical Education Unit will be at Kalama Park in January from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to provide services to people experiencing homelessness. The unit offers various resources in one location to support the community.
