The Metropolitan Police Department is on the lookout for a suspect following a burglary in Georgetown. In the early morning hours of a December weekend, an establishment was broken into, resulting in both theft and property damage.
According to a release from the MPD, the incident that has spurred this search occurred on Saturday, December 10, 2025, just past 3 a.m. Unlawfully breaking into the 2800 block of M Street, Northwest, the suspect, before fleeing, managed to lay waste to the property within and make off with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
The police department is asking for the community's help but advises individuals who might possess information about the suspect to refrain from taking any direct action themselves. Instead, they should reach out by calling (202) 727-9099 or take advantage of texting the tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The MPD is countering this criminal act's shadow with a beam of incentive, offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of those behind this crime.
