Miami is experiencing a significant temperature change this week. The National Weather Service reported a sunny Tuesday with a high of 68°F and north winds of 13 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 28 mph. On Monday, temperatures reached 88°F in both Miami and Fort Lauderdale, setting new records.

The cold weather is expected to continue throughout the week. NBC Miami reported strong gusty winds Tuesday morning, which are expected to decrease to around 20 mph later in the day. While average temperatures for this time of year are usually in the mid-70s, South Florida is forecast to stay cooler, with highs in the upper 60s.

South Florida is expected to remain in this cooler pattern. The NWS reports mostly sunny conditions on Thursday with a high near 70°F and north winds around 10 mph. Overnight temperatures are expected to fall to the upper 40s and low 50s.

A gradual warm-up is expected later in the week. NBC Miami reports that Friday’s morning temperatures will be in the low- to mid-50s, with afternoon highs in the upper 60s to around 70°F. There is also a 20% chance of showers on Friday, with a forecasted high near 71°F.

Another cold front is expected to move through the region. Temperatures may drop into the 40s, with some areas possibly reaching the upper 30s by Sunday morning. This could be the coldest air South Florida has seen since December 2010.
