
A Miami man has been charged with shooting his ex-girlfriend at the nail salon where she works, according to reports. Job Jocelyn, 23, now faces attempted murder/aggravated battery and firearm possession charges. Local 10 states that the incident occurred at a shopping plaza located at 3721 NW Seventh St., where the victim was employed.
The arrest report disclosed by the Miami Police Department reveals that Jocelyn had been in a relationship with the victim for about three years, though they shared no children. The victim had received continuous texts and calls from Jocelyn about their relationship status. After discovering she was communicating with another man, Jocelyn arrived at the salon and asked her, "Are you really calling the police?" before shooting her in the left thigh, as noted by NBC Miami.
Surveillance footage from inside the salon captured the shooting, and witnesses recounted the incident. One witness said she was attending to a client’s nails when the victim returned to her booth with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Following the shooting, Jocelyn was arrested and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to NBC Miami. A prior domestic violence investigation involving Jocelyn and the victim had been closed, and he was served with a risk protection order in May 2025. A judge later ordered him held without bond and issued a directive to stay away from the victim.
There is an active investigation into the circumstances of the shooting, including review of both the victim’s and Jocelyn’s backgrounds. Jocelyn remains in custody as the case proceeds through the legal process.
