South Florida is expected to experience a brief warm period on Sunday, with temperatures near 83 degrees, just below the 84-degree record set in 2000. Local 10 reports that temperatures are likely to drop to the mid-70s by Monday as an approaching front moves in. Conditions are forecast to remain mostly sunny with light easterly winds ahead of the front.
The National Weather Service forecasts that the likelihood of showers will gradually increase early in the week, reaching a peak of 40 percent on Wednesday afternoon, with thunderstorms possible during that time.
The NWS reports that ahead of the unsettled weather, daytime highs are expected to remain in the mid to high 70s, with overnight lows near the upper 60s. Thursday night temperatures could drop to around 50 degrees. Winds are forecast to stay moderate, with occasional gusts up to 21 mph.
