Residents in Miami should brace for a mix of weather conditions over the next few days, according to the latest forecasts. Wednesday morning started off cool, with temperatures around the 50-degree mark and a light breeze to kick off the day, as noted by NBC Miami. Moving through Wednesday afternoon, sunshine might be grudgingly sharing the skies with some clouds, with the possibility of a wandering shower—not all will witness the rain, but an occurrence can't entirely be dismissed. Highs are expected to reach around 67 degrees.
The coming evening predictably features cooler conditions with temperatures dipping back near 50 degrees. As reported by the National Weather Service, Miami is on a trajectory for increased cloudiness today, with a 30 percent chance of showers anticipated between 1pm and 4pm. Expect the north wind to blow at around 10 mph, further chilling the air.
Thursday is looking up weather-wise as the city is preparing to welcome sunny skies with a high near 70 degrees. The northeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts that could reach as high as 20 mph, won't be enough to dampen spirits. Friday should mimic Thursday's conditions somewhat, with partly sunny skies in the forecast and a 30 percent chance of showers after 1pm, as per National Weather Service expectations.
An incoming cold front is poised to bring a significant cooldown over the weekend. "Friday, a few passing showers are possible as an area of low pressure begins to develop in the gulf. This is going to be attached to the cold front that will bring arctic air down into South Florida by the second half of the weekend," according to NBC Miami. Such conditions lead to Saturday ushering in showers along with the temperature drop—highs in the mid-60s are predicted, followed by a plunge into the 30s at night, blustery with gusts up to 30 mph.
The chill is here to stay for a bit; Sunday's forecast hints at sunny skies but with highs barely reaching 55 degrees amidst northwest winds that could gust as high as 28 mph. This trend of brisk conditions seems set to hold through the early new week, with Monday being another cold morning before the arctic air begins a gradual withdrawal. As NBC Miami reminds us, "With temps in the 30s, this will be the coldest air we've seen since December 2010, that's about 15 years! Pull out the winter gear if you have it!"
