Milton residents should brace for a slower commute on Phillips Road in the coming weeks, as a new water main pipe installation project will reduce the thoroughfare to a single lane. Fulton County Water Services, the agency in charge of water services in the area, is spearheading the endeavor, which is expected to launch today and extend into mid-February. Weather permitting, additional factors could push this end date further.
In a statement made by the City of Milton's news release, officials detailed that the work would cause traffic on Phillips Road, which connects Mountain Road and Hopewell Road, to be managed by flaggers who will direct vehicles in alternating directions.
Although Phillips Road is not one of the busier streets in Milton, the weeks-long project is expected to affect traffic. Drivers in the area should be prepared for delays, and the city is asking for patience and understanding as the work to improve infrastructure continues.
