Milwaukee residents are facing a period of winter weather. A Winter Weather Advisory beginning this evening was issued by the National Weather Service. Forecasts call for 2 to 5 inches of snow, with locally higher amounts possible, especially near the Illinois border.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures today are expected to reach a high near 16 degrees, while wind chill values between -5 and -15 will make conditions feel colder. Snow is expected to begin after 11 p.m., which may lead to slippery and hazardous road conditions for the Wednesday morning commute.
On Wednesday, there is a 30 percent chance of snow mainly before 9 a.m., with a high near 25. Another cold front is expected later Wednesday, bringing additional snow showers that could briefly reduce visibility and impact travel.
The National Weather Service advisory also highlights very cold temperatures and wind chills expected from Thursday night through the weekend. Residents are encouraged to use caution on roads, sidewalks, and driveways, as icy conditions are likely.
