A fire broke out in an apartment on Roselawn Avenue on Monday night, prompting a response from 22 Modesto firefighters, with crews from Station 2 arriving first. The blaze threatened three nearby apartments but was contained to the original unit, as reported by the Modesto Fire Department.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the building and worked quickly to prevent the fire from spreading. In a social media update, the department reminded residents to practice home safety and urged them to “test your smoke detectors and have a home escape plan for you and your family,” as stated by the Modesto Fire Department.
According to the Modesto Fire Department on its Facebook page, witnesses reported heavy smoke before firefighters arrived at a fire scene. Crews from Station 2 and other units contained the fire and prevented it from spreading. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
