In a recent incident on Solano roads, a motorcycle rider was arrested by a Solano CHP officer for barreling down the highway at a blistering 102 MPH, according to the CHP - Solano. Following the high-speed pursuit that ended with a traffic stop, it became clear that the rider was not just exceeding the speed limit, but was doing so under the influence, with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .126%, breaching the state's legal limit.
The CHP's social media post highlights several violations: the motorcyclist did not hold a motorcycle endorsement, was operating a vehicle on a suspended license due to a prior DUI, and was currently on DUI probation.
"Excessive speed while impaired is a deadly combination, especially on a motorcycle where there’s little protection in a crash," the post from CHP - Solano warns. "One mistake at triple-digit speeds can be fatal." The message is clear: the risk isn't abstract, it's imminent and all too real.
Within the discourse of the digital town square, the Solano CHP takes on the role of both guardian and guide, reminding the public, "Don’t drive or ride impaired," "Slow down—speed kills," and to ensure one is carrying proper licensing.
