A death investigation is underway after a body was discovered at a West Hollywood bus stop early Wednesday morning, turning a busy La Brea and Santa Monica Boulevard corner into a crime scene perimeter. Deputies were called at about 6:30 a.m. to the bus shelter outside the Target near the West Hollywood Gateway. The body appeared to be that of a woman, and authorities have not yet released her identity or a cause of death.
Investigation details
Early reporting indicates deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call about an unresponsive person at the shelter, and Sky5 overhead video showed a sizable law enforcement presence around the intersection. Reporters say investigators are handling the case as a death investigation rather than an active homicide probe, according to KTLA.
