North Lamar is about to get a lot sweeter. Milkmade, a mother-and-daughter ice cream trailer, is set to open in North Austin this month, rolling into the lot next to Michi Ramen on North Lamar with small-batch, seasonal specialty ice creams and milkshakes on a rotating menu. The owners have scheduled a launch for January.
According to Community Impact, the business is owned and operated by mother and daughter Jacalyn Helms and Erin Mindell Cannon and will serve both dairy and vegan selections. In a news release, the pair described the menu as small-batch and intentionally rotating to line up with seasonal ingredients. “We’re thrilled to bring Milkmade to the North Lamar community,” co-owner Erin Mindell Cannon said.
Where To Find The Trailer
Milkmade will set up in the parking lot outside Michi Ramen's North Lamar location. Michi Ramen's website lists that location at 6519 N. Lamar Blvd., which is where the trailer is expected to park while operating in the neighborhood.
