The North Las Vegas Police Department’s Northwest Area Command police station, located at 3755 W. Washburn Rd., was dedicated in honor of fallen Detective Chad Parque. The dedication took place exactly nine years after his end of watch, according to the North Las Vegas Police Department.
Members of the Parque family joined the North Las Vegas Mayor and City Council, along with North Las Vegas Police Department command staff, for the ceremony. The event included the official renaming of the building and the unveiling of a bronze plaque.
Detective Parque was critically injured in a head-on collision with a wrong-way driver on Martin Luther King Boulevard near Carey Avenue on Jan. 6, 2017. He passed away the following day, Jan. 7, 2017, and was a 10-year veteran of the North Las Vegas Police Department.
