A northern Harris County community is grappling with the recent arrest of Jonah Cornnell McQueen, age 30, on a murder charge following the shooting of his roommate. According to Click2Houston, Precinct 4 deputies responded to a shooting report in the 400 block of Thornwilde Park Lane, where they discovered the body of 52-year-old Kelvin Jones in a garage.
Officials have stated that after an argument between the two roommates turned deadly, McQueen apparently shot Jones in the back, as shown by court records. Following a search on Friday morning, McQueen was captured and handed over to the Homicide Division, and he was subsequently booked into the Harris County Jail on Saturday. Arrested after a brief pursuit, the suspect was found and detained soon after the body was discovered, without revealing the intricate details of the encounter to the responding officers.
Further information related to the incident was also shared by FOX26 Houston, noting that Sheriff Ed Gonzalez affirmed McQueen’s murder charge for Jones's death. The altercation that led to the fatal shooting occurred on Thornwild Park Lane, a residential area near Imperial Valley Drive and Imperial Arbor Lane.
As the community questions the circumstances leading up to the tragic event, details remain sparse. "No other details are available at this time," reported FOX26 Houston. Scheduled for a preliminary appearance in court on Monday at 9 a.m., McQueen's legal journey is just beginning, leaving many to wonder about the sequence of events that unraveled so fatally behind closed doors.
