According to the information provided by WZZM13, the winner decided to accept his earnings as a lump sum of approximately $693,000, opting out of annuity payments for the full amount. His motivation for playing the raffle came from a family recommendation, "My brother told me about the Super Raffle game, so I asked him to buy me a ticket when he went and got one for himself and I ended up getting lucky," the player said. He also described his disbelief and relief upon discovering his win, stating, "When I saw my raffle ticket was a $1 million winner, I couldn't believe it. I had to check it several times before it started to sink in that I really won. I feel stress free and like a weight has been lifted from my chest!"
The man's good fortune was part of a larger Super Raffle that offered a multitude of prizes, including a $6 million top prize, two additional $1 million prizes, and thousands of other payouts ranging from $100 to $100,000, MI Lottery Connect detailed. Notably, a Wayne County woman also won a significant $100,000 prize in the same drawing as the Oakland County winner.
