The Oklahoma City Fire Department has reported 69 water shut-offs across the city since Monday. The Oklahoma City Fire Department's Facebook page is advising residents and business owners to know the location of their water shut-off valves to quickly stop flooding from burst pipes or leaks.
Shut-off valves are typically located where the water line enters a building, such as in basements, crawl spaces, garages, or near water heaters or laundry areas. The department recommends taking time to locate the valve to reduce damage during water emergencies.
If a water emergency occurs and the shut-off valve cannot be found or operated, residents can contact Utilities Customer Service at 405-297-2833 for assistance.
